Editing Resources
SneakerBible runs on the same software as Wikipedia, so if you are familiar with editing Wikipedia you should be pretty much good to go. However, we understand that most users probably haven't edited Wikipedia and aren't quite sure how to use the tools to create pages. Once you've read how to edit, you can fool around and test stuff at the Sandbox page.
For a detailed instructions on how to use wikitext, please check out some of Wikipedia's guides:

Quick and Easy Guide to Creating a Sneaker Page
If you are just trying to learn the essentials to create a quality sneaker page, here is a quick and dirty guide:
Step 1: Create an account. In order to create and edit pages, you need to go through the quick registration process.
Step 2: Write Content
Write a blurb containing all information you can contribute about the sneaker. Please do not copy and paste from other sites, the content you add needs to be in your own words.
Step 3: Add Stats
If you can find basic statistics for your sneaker, it is helpful to include them below the blurb in level 2 headlines. To add level 2 headlines, just use the toolbar on the edit page, or format your text like this: "==Headline Here==".
Stats to include in these headlines include:
- Nicknames
- Release Date
- Original Retail Price
- Official Colorway
- Production Number
Step 4: Upload a picture.
Unfortunately, the way the wiki software handles images is less than ideal, but once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy. To upload an image, go to the Upload File page. You can find a link to this page in the toolbox section of the sidebar.
Now browse to the file on your computer and upload it to the site. Once the file is uploaded, you should see something like "File:YOURIMAGETITLEHERE.jpg". The information you need to insert your image into a post can be found on the Upload Page. This information is also included below:
* [[File:File.jpg]] to use the full version of the file * [[File:File.png|200px|thumb|right|alt text]] to use a 200 pixel wide rendition in a box in the right margin with 'alt text' as description
That's it, this is all the information you need to contribute to SneakerBible!

Rich Editor
If you just can't get the hang of wikitext, there is also a rich editor option, which can be selected at the top of the page editing box. This will switch you to a version where you can edit the page using a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor. However, doing things like aligning images correctly can be tricky in the rich editor, so it is probably better to just become familiar with using wikitext.
